Hoya Loft Journal
Welcome to the cozy little corner of The Leaf Loft where all 14 of my Hoya varieties live. This page is part journal, part care hub — a place to gather growth notes, funny quirks, and the everyday routines that keep these vining beauties happy at home.
General Hoya Care at The Leaf Loft
- Light: Most of the Hoyas here live in bright, indirect light, a few feet back from sunny windows. They love a soft, filtered glow rather than harsh, direct sun on their leaves.
- Watering: I let the top inch or two of soil dry out before watering, then soak thoroughly and let the excess drain away. Hoyas would rather be a little dry than soggy.
- Humidity: These plants enjoy a bit of cozy humidity, so they hang out near other plants and away from drafts. They do fine in typical home humidity, but perk up with a gentle boost.
- Soil & Potting: I use a chunky, well-draining mix so their roots can breathe — think airy and light rather than dense and compact. They stay in snug pots until they truly outgrow them.
- Fertilizing: During the growing season, I feed lightly with a balanced, diluted fertilizer now and then, like a small snack rather than a feast.
Hoya Variety Notes
Each Hoya in the loft has its own little personality, so I’ll be adding individual notes here over time — from new leaves and blooms to the small care tweaks that make them feel most at home.
